He specialises in complex tax investigations launched by HMRC, such as R&D enquiries, and has successfully resolved enquiries at all stages. This includes how to resolve matters where it is not possible to reach agreement with the investigator and it is necessary to go to mediation or the tax tribunal. John genuinely relishes the challenge of unravelling convoluted tax scenarios and adopting the right strategy to achieve a successful result for the client.

With more than two decades of experience in tax dispute resolution, John has vast knowledge of HMRC’s administration and enforcement procedures.
